The End of Our Two Week Wait... (IUI #1)

Today is the day... we finally get our results from our first IUI. My doctor prefers to schedule a blood test 14 days after an IUI. Technically today is only day 13, but because I am going out of town this afternoon for a conference and won't be back until Friday evening, I asked the nurse if we could try to do a blood test on day 13 instead. I really didn't want to have to wait until Monday. My appointment is at 11:45 a.m. and I should get the results by the end of the day. I'm going to have my doctor call Lee with the results, because by the end of the business day, I'm going to be in a car with three co-workers driving to the conference. Positive or Negative results, this is not the kind of news you want to get when riding in the car with co-workers that you don't know very well.

Our plan is for the Dr. to call Lee with the results, and tonight, once I get checked into the hotel, I will FaceTime Lee and he will tell me the news. I'm trying really hard to think positive, but I'm like 90% sure at this point that I'm not pregnant. I have taken 4 pregnancy tests over the last week (I know, I'm ridiculously impatient), and they have all been negative. The most recent one was this morning. As far as symptoms go, I have had cramps off and on the past two weeks, and as of now, I feel like I could start my period any minute. Last night I was really testy, and of course those symptoms could be fall under either category and be pregnancy or period related. The past two days I have been exhausted and have gone to bed at like 8:30, but that could either be pregnancy related, or me just recovering from not sleeping much this weekend. That's why I'm about 90% sure I'm not pregnant. Don't get me wrong, that 10% is still hoping and praying for a miracle, but I'm trying to prepare myself for a negative test result just in case.

I will do another blog post once we have gotten the results, and until then I'll be praying for good news!
